Greene, MO (October 18, 2024) – A serious traffic accident involving multiple vehicles occurred on October 17, 2024, at approximately 3:04 PM on Eastbound Interstate 44, approximately four miles east of Halltown. The Greene County authorities responded to the scene where a total of four vehicles were involved in the collision.
According to preliminary reports, the crash began when a 2017 Ford F150, driven by 43-year-old Dustin W. Ince from Springfield, MO, struck the rear of a 2013 Subaru Forester, operated by 81-year-old Jay E. Moore, also from Springfield. The impact caused Mr. Moore’s Subaru to be pushed into the rear of a 2012 Honda Odyssey, driven by 54-year-old Michael Nelson from Wichita, KS. The Subaru then veered off the right side of the roadway, returned to the road, and collided with the rear of a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, operated by 44-year-old Katie A. Kingsley from Hutchinson, KS.
Emergency responders from Cox Ambulance were dispatched to the scene, where they provided immediate medical assistance to Mr. Moore, who sustained serious injuries. He was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for further evaluation and treatment. The other drivers involved in the accident reported minor injuries and were able to leave the scene in their vehicles.
The Ford F150 and the Subaru Forester were both deemed total losses and were towed from the scene by RPM Towing. The Chevrolet Suburban and Honda Odyssey sustained minor damage but were driven from the scene.
