Jackson, MO (October 16, 2024) – A serious traffic accident occurred on Tuesday morning at the intersection of Route BB and Pink Hill Rd, resulting in significant damage and one person being transported to a medical facility. The incident was reported at approximately 8:40 a.m. and involved two vehicles.
According to the investigation conducted by TPR A K Booker, the crash occurred when a 2013 Volvo S80, driven by 48-year-old Eric H. Bender from Buckner, MO, was traveling northbound on Route BB. Reports indicate that the driver ran a stop sign, leading to a collision with a westbound 2009 International trash truck, operated by 33-year-old Andrew D. Lies from Blue Springs, MO.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene promptly, and Bender was reported to have sustained serious injuries. He was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center by Central Jackson County EMS for further evaluation and treatment. The trash truck sustained moderate damage and was towed by Jackson County Tow, while the Volvo was deemed a total loss and was towed by Elite.
