Newington, CT (October 16, 2024) – A tragic head-on collision occurred on Tuesday night, resulting in the death of a woman. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene on East Cedar Street, near Patricia Genova Drive, at approximately 8:14 PM after reports of a serious accident involving two vehicles.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that one of the vehicles had rolled over as a result of the collision. The woman driving that vehicle sustained serious injuries, prompting firefighters to extricate her from the wreckage. She was quickly transported to an area hospital for medical treatment; however, she later succumbed to her injuries. Authorities have not yet released her name, as they are in the process of notifying her family.
The male driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash sustained minor injuries and was also taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment.
