Jefferson County, AL (October 16, 2024) – A tragic house fire occurred early Tuesday morning, resulting in the death of one individual. Emergency responders from the Forestdale Fire Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene at approximately 6:05 AM in the 600 block of Crumley Chapel.
Once the fire was extinguished, responders discovered the victim inside the residence. Unfortunately, the individual, whose identity has not yet been officially released pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:22 AM. Fortunately, a second person was able to escape the blaze unharmed.
The Alabama Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the cause and origin of the fire, while the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is looking into the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death.
