Lisbon, CT (October 15, 2024) – A tragic incident occurred late Monday night when a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Route 12. State police have not yet identified the victim, who was reportedly walking in the area when the accident took place.
Following the crash, Route 12 was closed to traffic, although it has since been reopened. According to reports, River Road was closed at approximately 10:30 PM as emergency responders worked at the scene.
Witnesses observed a Dodge Ram with significant front-end damage being towed from the location. Troopers indicated that the driver was traveling north on River Road when the vehicle veered off the right side of the road, colliding with the pedestrian. The truck then struck a guardrail and subsequently a telephone pole, coming to a stop in the middle of the roadway.
