Volusia County, FL (October 14, 2024) – A tragic motorcycle accident occurred on Sunday evening, resulting in the death of a 35-year-old Edgewater man. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place around 6:50 p.m. on the southbound entrance ramp of Interstate 95 from State Road 44.
Reports indicate that the man was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle east on the entrance ramp at mile marker 249 when he lost control of the vehicle. Troopers stated that the driver failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, causing him to run off the roadway to the left. The motorcycle subsequently struck a power pole, leading to the rider being thrown from the bike.
Emergency responders transported the driver to Halifax Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The Florida Highway Patrol is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
