Burlington Township, NJ (October 11, 2024) – An accident occurred early Friday morning, October 11 involving a New Jersey Transit light rail train and a truck, resulting in injuries to five individuals. The incident took place near Dulty’s Lane Crossing at approximately 6:10 a.m.
According to a spokesperson for NJ Transit, the crash involved four passengers aboard the train and the train’s operator, all of whom sustained injuries. Fortunately, all five individuals are expected to survive their injuries. At the time of the incident, there were 36 passengers on the train.
In the aftermath of the crash, service on the River LINE was temporarily suspended between the Burlington Town Center and Florence stations. Operations have since resumed, but delays of up to 15 minutes have been reported as the situation is managed.
The NJ Transit police are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine the cause and any contributing factors.
