Brazos County, TX (October 11, 2024) – A tragic motorcycle accident occurred on October 10 on the west side of Brazos County, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist. The incident was reported around 8:45 PM, with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) confirming details from the preliminary crash report on Friday morning.
According to the report, a 2012 Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound on FM 60 near Vincent Road just after 8:20 PM when the driver made a U-turn. A motorcyclist, also heading west, collided with the Corolla, causing the rider to be thrown from the motorcycle. Subsequently, the motorcyclist was struck by a pickup truck traveling eastbound. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene by a Brazos County Justice of the Peace. The motorcyclist has been identified as James Jolly, 69, of Somerville. Fortunately, the drivers of the other vehicles involved were uninjured.
The Texas DPS has stated that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash will continue.
