West Milford, NJ (October 11, 2024) – Two teenagers were seriously injured Tuesday afternoon, October 8 in Passaic County when their ATV collided with an oncoming car. The accident occurred shortly after 4 PM on Highlander Avenue.
According to police reports, the collision involved an ATV operated by a 14-year-old and a car driven by an 18-year-old West Milford man. The car sustained front-end damage, and its airbags were deployed upon impact.
Emergency responders found the two riders on the ATV, ages 14 and 15, with serious injuries. West Milford police officers applied tourniquets and performed first aid measures before both teens were airlifted to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson for further treatment.
The driver of the car and his 15-year-old passenger were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
