Lower Georges Creek, MD (October 10, 2024) – A serious auto accident involving pedestrians occurred on Thursday evening in the 17000 block of Lower Georges Creek Road. Emergency services were alerted to the scene at approximately 5:45 PM after reports indicated that one adult and two pediatric patients had been struck by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, first responders found that the situation was critical, as the initial reports suggested that the adult and children had sustained injuries after being hit by a four-wheeler. Following the initial collision, the four-wheeler was subsequently struck by another vehicle, complicating the incident further.
Emergency responders from multiple units, including RE19, MP19, M352, M513, M519, MCA57-70, CHASE50, CH19, and LT51, were dispatched to the scene to provide immediate assistance.
As the situation developed, command requested the assistance of Trooper-5 for air transport at approximately 5:50 PM. A landing zone was established at Westmar Middle School to facilitate the airlift. By 5:55 PM, RE20 was also assigned to assist with the operation.
At 6:09 PM, M519 requested confirmation on whether Trooper-5 could transport a second patient from the scene. Shortly thereafter, at 6:13 PM, the Trooper-5 crew requested the second patient to be brought to the landing zone for assessment.
