Mountain Grove, MO (October 10, 2024) – A vehicle crash occurred on US 6, approximately three miles west of Mountain Grove, resulting in injuries and significant vehicle damage. The incident was reported at 7:35 PM, prompting a response from local law enforcement and emergency services.
According to the investigation conducted by Trooper J.L. Dedmon, the crash involved two vehicles: a 1990 Toyota Tacoma and a 1992 Ford F150. Preliminary reports indicate that the Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 17-year-old male from Willow Springs, MO, struck the Ford F150 from behind, causing the Tacoma to overturn. The driver of the Tacoma was reported to have been using a safety device at the time of the accident.
The Ford F150, driven by 52-year-old Melvin Edwards from Cabool, MO, sustained minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene. Both vehicles were traveling eastbound at the time of the collision. The Toyota Tacoma was deemed a total loss and was towed by Midway at the owner’s request.
Injuries were reported as a result of the crash. Lydia Petersen, an 18-year-old female occupant in the Tacoma, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for medical treatment.
