According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, pedestrian fatalities have been on the rise, with numerous incidents resulting from driver negligence or failure to yield.
In this particular case, the circumstances surrounding the accident underscore the importance of visibility and awareness for both pedestrians and drivers. Factors such as wearing dark clothing at dawn can make it challenging for drivers to see pedestrians, increasing the risk of tragic accidents. It is crucial for pedestrians to wear bright or reflective clothing, especially when walking near roadways.

The consequences of pedestrian accidents can be severe, often leading to life-altering injuries or fatalities.
