Middletown, MD (October 9, 2024) – A significant structure fire was reported just after 9 PM in the 11000 block of Highland School Road. Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene to address the situation, which involved a working fire in a trailer with possible entrapment.

Upon arrival, Command 21 (C21) established command after conducting a complete 360-degree assessment of the area. Engine 82 (E82) was the first unit on scene and promptly pulled a hose line to the Alpha side of the trailer. Following closely behind were Rescue Engine 74 (RE74) and Command 7 (C7), with RE74 taking the second due position.

As E82 and RE74 made their way into the trailer, they located a victim inside. The crews, along with Engine 212 (E212), worked diligently to extricate the victim through a door on the Charlie side of the structure. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tanker 7 (T7) was the first due tanker to arrive, while Ambulance 78 (A78) assisted as part of the Rapid Intervention Group (RIG). C7 provided support as the command aide throughout the incident.
