Rimrock, AZ (October 4, 2024) – A tragic two-vehicle head-on collision occurred in Yavapai County late Thursday morning, resulting in the death of a 74-year-old woman. The crash took place around 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of Beaver Creek Road and Stevenson Drive.
According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, a white Volkswagen Passat collided with a silver Toyota RAV4. Witnesses reported that two bystanders were attempting to assist the injured driver of the Volkswagen when deputies arrived on the scene. Paramedics quickly responded and extricated the woman from her vehicle, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota RAV4 was unharmed in the incident.
Deputies are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this deadly collision. A witness who was driving behind the Toyota at the time of the crash stated that she observed the Volkswagen heading in the opposite direction before it suddenly veered into their lane and struck the RAV4.
