Pierce County, WA (October 2, 2024) – On Monday morning, a 41-year-old driver was arrested following a multi-vehicle crash on 176th Street E. The incident unfolded when deputies from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) attempted to stop the driver for a traffic violation in Spanaway. The suspect failed to comply and drove directly toward a deputy, prompting a pursuit.
The chase lasted nearly 10 miles, during which the suspect collided with a vehicle at the intersection of 176th Street E and Canyon Road E. Despite losing a wheel in the process, the suspect continued to flee. The pursuit ultimately ended in a second crash involving at least two other vehicles in the 8400 block of 176th Street E.

Officers discovered firearms and narcotics in the suspect’s vehicle. After claiming to have ingested narcotics, the suspect was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
Witnesses at the scene recorded the aftermath of the crash, capturing significant damage to the suspect’s vehicle and the other cars involved, as well as the traffic backups caused by the incident.
