Washington County, OK (October 1, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred early Tuesday morning, October 1, resulting in the death of a 53-year-old woman. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that the incident took place at approximately 3:32 AM at the intersection of West 2400 Road and US-75, located two miles south of Bartlesville.
According to the OHP, Paula Zimmer was traveling eastbound on West 2400 Road when she failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection. As a result, her vehicle was struck by a southbound truck on US-75. The force of the collision caused Zimmer’s car to veer off the road, where it subsequently collided with a light pole. The impact was severe, and Zimmer was thrown approximately 40 feet from her vehicle.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported Zimmer to a local hospital. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at 4:12 AM. The driver of the truck involved in the crash refused medical treatment.
