Jerome County, ID (October 1, 2024) – The Idaho State Police are also investigating another fatal crash that occurred on Monday morning, September 30 at approximately 9 AM at the intersection of 500 North and 100 East in Jerome County.
In this incident, a 26-year-old man from Wendell was driving southbound in a 2007 Freightliner semi pulling a 2018 trailer when he failed to stop at a stop sign. As a result, his semi collided with a 2002 Saturn SL1 passenger car driven by a 43-year-old woman from Jerome, who was traveling eastbound. The impact was severe, and the driver of the Saturn, who was not wearing a seatbelt, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The driver of the semi has since been arrested for vehicular manslaughter as the investigation continues.
