Cameron, WI (October 1, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on Sunday, September 29, just after 3 p.m. on County Road W, west of Cameron, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist. According to a press release from Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald, the incident involved a motorcycle and another vehicle.
The motorcyclist, identified as 63-year-old Jerry Rogers from Barron, was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders arrived promptly to provide assistance, and the driver of the other vehicle, 74-year-old Kathy Harelstad from Chetek, was treated for her injuries and released at the scene.
Following the crash, County Road W and 19th Street were closed for approximately four hours as authorities conducted their investigation. The Barron County Sheriff’s Department, along with the Wisconsin State Patrol, is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
