Kissimmee, FL (October 1, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred early Tuesday morning on Interstate 4 in Orange County, resulting in the death of a 25-year-old woman from Kissimmee. The fatal crash took place near mile marker 72 at approximately 12:20 a.m., as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
According to the preliminary investigation, the woman was driving a 2024 Hyundai Elantra and was traveling from Sand Lake Road through an active construction lane closure when she failed to notice an unoccupied Ford F-750 truck parked in the area. The truck was facing south on I-4 westbound at mile marker 72.
The front of the woman’s vehicle collided with the left rear section of the parked truck. Following the initial impact, her car rotated in a clockwise direction and subsequently struck the left side of the truck. Tragically, the woman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, which led to her being partially ejected from the vehicle. She sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the victim during this incredibly difficult time.
