Escambia County, FL (October 1, 2024) – A tragic motorcycle accident occurred on Sunday afternoon, claiming the life of a 36-year-old man from Pensacola. The incident took place around 4:27 p.m. at the intersection of Rock Island Place and SR 296 Beverly Parkway, involving a black Audi sedan and a silver Triumph motorcycle.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the motorcyclist was traveling west on SR 296 when the Audi, operated by a 40-year-old man from Pensacola with a 59-year-old woman as a passenger, failed to yield. The Audi entered the roadway directly into the path of the motorcycle, leading to a collision with the left rear side of the vehicle.
Emergency responders pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver and passenger of the Audi were transported to Baptist Hospital by Escambia County EMS, where they were treated for minor injuries.
The FHP has indicated that charges are pending as the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash continues.
