Campbell County, VA (September 29, 2024) – Virginia State Police are investigating a tragic pedestrian accident that occurred on Saturday evening, September 28, 2024, on Route 460. The incident took place just before 8:30 p.m. at the intersection with Scotts Farm Road.
According to authorities, a 2013 Chevy Suburban was traveling eastbound when it reached the intersection and was unable to avoid hitting a pedestrian who was crossing the eastbound lanes. The pedestrian, who was wearing dark-colored clothing, was subsequently struck by a Toyota Tacoma and a GMC Canyon.
The victim has been identified as 68-year-old Aniela Kowalczyk, a resident of Campbell County. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Fortunately, none of the drivers involved in the crash sustained injuries, and all remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation.
