Oakdale, NY (September 25, 2024) – A serious pedestrian accident occurred on Tuesday evening around 7:15 p.m. involving a 2020 GMC Sierra and a woman on Oakdale-Bohemia Road. According to Suffolk County Police, the truck was traveling southbound when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Montauk Highway and struck the pedestrian.
The victim, a 58-year-old resident of Ronkonkoma, was transported by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious physical injuries. Fortunately, the driver of the Sierra, a 51-year-old man from Oakdale, was not injured in the incident.
