Jefferson County, NE (September 24, 2024) – A serious two-vehicle collision occurred this past weekend in Jefferson County, northeast of Harbine, resulting in significant injuries to a local woman. The accident took place around 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, at the intersection of U.S. 136 and Nebraska 103.
According to witnesses who spoke with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, a 2024 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck, driven by 40-year-old Joseph Bonnette from Texas, was traveling north on Nebraska 103 when he failed to stop for a stop sign. As a result, the pickup collided with a westbound 2019 Chevrolet Equinox operated by 24-year-old Emma Elliott of Beatrice.
Elliott sustained serious injuries in the crash and was promptly transported by helicopter to a hospital in Lincoln for urgent medical care. Fortunately, Bonnette was treated at the scene by Diller Ambulance and was later released, indicating that his injuries were not severe.
