Jamestown, ND (September 24, 2024) – A serious two-vehicle collision occurred on U.S. Highway 52, approximately two miles north of Jamestown, resulting in injuries to three individuals on Monday afternoon. The crash was reported at 4:42 p.m. at the intersection of 32nd Street SE.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by a 43-year-old male from Mission, Texas, was traveling westbound on 32nd Street SE when he allegedly disregarded a stop sign at the intersection. This led to a collision with a southbound 2020 Hyundai Palisade, which was driven by a 69-year-old male from Glenview, Illinois.
The collision was characterized as an angle crash, with the Dodge Ram striking the Hyundai on the front driver’s side. Following the impact, both vehicles veered off the road and came to rest in a ditch on the southwest side of the highway.
Emergency responders from Jamestown Ambulance treated the driver of the Dodge Ram, as well as the driver and a 65-year-old female passenger in the Hyundai. All three individuals sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were subsequently transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center for further medical care.
Authorities confirmed that all individuals involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The driver of the Dodge Ram has been cited for disregarding a stop sign, while no charges were filed against the driver or passenger of the Hyundai.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol, Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Ambulance, and Stutsman County Rural Fire & Rescue all responded to the scene. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
