Tattnall County, GA (September 23, 2024) – A tragic crash occurred overnight in Tattnall County, resulting in one fatality and the arrest of another individual. The incident took place around 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, involving multiple vehicles at the intersection of Hencart Road and State Route 23/144.
According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), 21-year-old Ethan Trey Deloach of Baxley was traveling west on Hencart Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection. At the same time, a second vehicle was approaching the intersection from the south, having the right of way. A third vehicle was also stopped at the intersection on State Route 144.
Deloach’s vehicle collided with the front bumper of the second vehicle. Following the impact, Deloach’s vehicle continued into an Enmarket parking lot, where it came to an uncontrolled stop. The second vehicle, after being struck, rotated and traveled west, subsequently colliding with the third vehicle. The second and third vehicles ultimately came to rest against each other on State Route 144.
Tragically, Jenifer Bejay Dasher, 50, of Glennville, was killed in the crash. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation, and Deloach has been arrested in connection with the fatal crash.
