Lee, NY (September 20, 2024) – A tragic incident occurred on the afternoon of September 19, resulting in the death of a young child in Lee. At approximately 3:30 p.m., the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a car-pedestrian accident near Stokes-Lee Center Road.
According to investigators, 27-year-old Jessica Furry of Lee Center was operating her 2018 white Jeep Grand Cherokee in the driveway of her residence when the accident took place. It was determined that Furry had placed the vehicle in drive and inadvertently drove forward, striking her 3-year-old son, Cooper Farda.
In the immediate aftermath of the incident, Furry began life-saving measures on her son while emergency responders were alerted. Cooper was transported from the scene by Amcare Ambulance Services to Rome Health, where he was sadly pronounced deceased.
