Daniels, WV – Cyclist Killed in Vehicle Accident on Ritter Dr

Daniels, WV (September 18, 2024) – A man was tragically killed early Tuesday, September 17, after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle on Ritter Dr. Raleigh County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 1700 block just after midnight. The driver, attempting to pass another vehicle in a marked passing zone, hit the cyclist. Identified as 19-year-old Damion Workman of Daniels.

After striking Workman, the car veered off the road, overturned, and stopped in a large drainage ditch. The driver was uninjured. First responders tried to administer aid to Workman, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the accident, with no charges filed against the driver at this time. Further details may follow.
