Tilden Twp, PA (September 18, 2024) – A late-night collision at the I-78 Ramp and PA-61 intersection left three individuals with serious injuries. The crash occurred around 10:16 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, and involved a 2009 Toyota Camry driven by an 18-year-old male from Wyomissing and a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia with a Vanguard National trailer.
The Freightliner, operated by a 37-year-old male from Allentown, was attempting to turn left onto the I-78 East on-ramp when the southbound Camry collided with its trailer. The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles, with the Camry striking the trailer near its fourth axle. Emergency responders transported the Camry’s driver and two passengers, including a 17-year-old from Reading to Reading Hospital with suspected serious injuries.
