Phelps, MO – Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Collision on US Hwy 63

Phelps, MO (September 16, 2024) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on Sunday, September 15, along US Hwy 63, five miles south of Rolla. The accident occurred at around 12:47 PM when a 2022 GMC Sierra. Driven by 51-year-old Mark Borgmann, was overtaking another vehicle in the passing lane.

Heather Polk, 36, attempted to cross the road and was hit by the GMC. Polk sustained serious injuries and was airlifted by Phelps Health Air Ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.
