Raleigh, NC – One Dead, 2 Injured in Crash at Poole Rd & MLK Jr Blvd

Raleigh, NC (September 16, 2024) – A 72-year-old driver, Lovelace Burwell Jr., died Sunday afternoon after a crash on Poole Rd. Burwell crossed the center line, sideswiping an oncoming Ford Fusion before crashing into multiple trees.

The two women inside the Ford sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. Burwell was also taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
