Stafford, NY (September 15, 2024) – A tragic accident on Saturday, September 14 claimed the life of 20-year-old Michael J. Ciarpelli of Rochester. According to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, Ciarpelli was killed after his motorcycle collided head-on with an SUV around 5:36 p.m. on State Route 33.
Officials report that Ciarpelli was driving westbound and attempted to pass two vehicles when the crash occurred. At the same time, SUV driver Luanne E. Andrews and her passenger, Colleen L. O’Mara, were turning onto State Route 33 from Griswold Road. Ciarpelli struck Andrews’ vehicle in the eastbound lane.
Ciarpelli was thrown from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. It remains unclear if Andrews or O’Mara sustained any injuries. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
