Thatcher, ID (September 12, 2024) – A 56-year-old man lost his life, and a 46-year-old woman sustained critical injuries in a motorcycle accident Wednesday morning, September 11 in southeast Idaho. The crash occurred around 10 a.m. on State Hwy-34 when an 82-year-old man, driving a Chevy pickup, attempted a left turn onto Thatcher Rd.
The pickup failed to yield the right of way, colliding with the Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling southbound. The motorcycle driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the woman was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition. It is not yet confirmed whether the riders were wearing helmets.
Authorities from the Idaho State Police, alongside the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the scene. The investigation remains ongoing, and further details are expected as it progresses.
