Grandville, MI (September 12, 2024) – An 11-year-old student was struck by a car while using a crosswalk near Oakestown Intermediate School on. Wednesday afternoon, September 11. According to Grandville Public Schools, the child was riding a bike and had activated the crosswalk lights, but a vehicle failed to stop for the flashing signals.
The incident occurred at the Wedgewood Park crosswalk as the student was heading toward the east side of Wilson Ave. Nearby parents immediately called 911, and emergency responders, including the Grandville police and fire departments, arrived at the scene.
