Hutchinson, KS (September 11, 2024) – Six people were injured Tuesday evening after a small explosion at the Fry Shack concession trailer at the Kansas State Fair. Fire crews arrived at the scene around 6:30 p.m. and discovered that the explosion was caused by an overheated canned food product stored near a food warmer.

Two individuals were transported to the hospital with lacerations. Three others declined medical assistance, while one refused evaluation. The investigation into the explosion is ongoing.
