Dulac, LA – Pedestrian Dies in Hit-and-Run on LA Hwy 57 near Avet St

Dulac, LA (September 10, 2024) – A pedestrian tragically died after being struck in a hit-and-run crash on LA Hwy 57 near Avet St on Monday, September 9. The Louisiana State Police began investigating the incident, which occurred shortly before 8:00 p.m.

According to authorities, the pedestrian was on or near the highway when an unknown vehicle hit them and fled the scene without reporting the accident. The pedestrian suffered moderate injuries and was immediately transported to a hospital outside the area for treatment. Sadly, on Tuesday, September 10, the Louisiana State Police were informed that the pedestrian had succumbed to their injuries. 

The investigation into this hit-and-run incident is still ongoing.
