Lincoln, AL (September 11, 2024) – A tragic accident on Interstate 20 early Monday claimed the lives of two people and left another seriously injured. Alabama State Troopers identified the victims as 55-year-old Troy S. Patterson and his passenger, 53-year-old Eva Easterling, both from Mississippi.
The crash occurred at 1:55 a.m. when a Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Jason M. Moore, struck Patterson’s overturned Ford Ranger. The truck had already crashed and was overturned in the road before the impact. Patterson and Easterling were pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the Suburban, 44-year-old William Corbell, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Authorities are investigating the incident, with updates expected as the inquiry progresses.
