Washington County, OR (September 9, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, September 7 a fatal collision on HWY 6 near MP 49 resulted in one death and two critical injuries. Oregon State Police report that a GMC Sonoma, heading west, veered into the eastbound lane, striking a Honda Accord.
Leonardo Franco-Velazquez, 22, from Gold Bar, WA, perished at the scene. Both a GMC passenger and the Honda driver sustained critical injuries and were rushed to the hospital. The crash caused significant delays on HWY 6 for approximately five hours.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the crash. More updates are expected.
