Uehling, NE – Fatal Crash on HWY 77 Claims Omaha Woman, Others Injured

Uehling, NE (September 9, 2024) – A tragic accident on HWY 77 resulted in the death of Dorothy Norgard, 72, from Omaha, and injuries to several others Saturday evening, September 7. The crash occurred two miles south of Uehling around 7:30 p.m.

A Dodge Durango, driven westbound by 60-year-old Julia Johnson from Malmo, failed to stop at a highway sign, colliding with a southbound Jeep Compass. The impact sent both vehicles into a ditch, resulting in hospitalizations and a life-flight for one victim.

Johnson was cited for failing to stop and careless driving. Speeding and alcohol were ruled out as factors. The investigation continues.
