Wallingford, CT – One Dead, Two Seriously Injured in Head-On Accident on S Turnpike Rd

Wallingford, CT (September 9, 2024) – A head-on collision on Sunday, September 8, left one person dead and two others with life-threatening injuries. The accident occurred shortly before 4 PM on S Turnpike Rd.

State police identified 42-year-old Jonathan Garcia of Wallingford as the driver of a Cadillac Escalade, which crossed the double yellow line and collided with a Chevrolet Silverado. The front end of the Escalade struck the Silverado’s left front side.

Garcia was transported to the hospital but was later pronounced dead. Both occupants of the Silverado were also hospitalized with critical injuries.

Authorities are investigating reports that the Escalade was involved in multiple earlier crashes. The Central District Major Crimes Squad continues to investigate the incident.
