Buchanan, MO (September 6, 2024) – A severe accident occurred on US169, one mile north of St. Joseph at 2:30 PM, involving a 2015 Chevrolet pickup and a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe. William T. White, 46, from Helena, driving north, collided head-on with Yalena A. Olivares, 60, from St. Joseph, who was making a turn onto US169.

Both drivers were transported to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph; Olivares sustained serious injuries, while White experienced minor injuries. The crash led to extensive damage to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene.

Investigations by Sgt. D.R. Reuter and local emergency services are ongoing as they work to determine the cause of the collision.
