Windom, MN (September 5, 2024) – A severe collision occurred at the intersection of HWY 71 and 1st Ave S, resulting in life-threatening injuries. At around 9:10 a.m., a Peterbilt semi, headed north, collided with a westbound Dodge Grand Caravan. The accident involved 73-year-old Russell Herman Schiell and 79-year-old Shirley Ann Wagner.

Wagner sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Windom Hospital. Road conditions were dry at the time of the crash. Local police, along with the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office and Windom Fire & Ambulance, responded. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
