Mingo County, WV (September 3, 2024) – A pedestrian was struck by a police cruiser on US 119 in Mingo County around midnight on Thursday. The incident occurred near a construction zone, just a few miles from the Logan County line.

A Williamson Police officer, transporting a prisoner northbound, hit the man. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries, and the reason he was in the roadway remains unknown. Trooper Jamie Harris commended the officer for quickly alerting emergency services and attempting life-saving measures at the scene.
