West Covina, CA – Man Killed, Woman Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-10 at Citrus Ave

West Covina, CA (September 1, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, a multi-vehicle collision on the eastbound I-10 near Citrus Ave resulted in one fatality and moderate injuries. Around 4 a.m., a 2011 Toyota Camry driven by a 20-year-old from Pomona struck the rear of a 2012 Honda Civic. The impact caused the Civic to collide with a big rig, ultimately disabling the Civic in the fast lane.

It was then struck by a 2021 Mazda 3, driven by a 19-year-old from Montclair. The Civic’s driver, 64-year-old Jose Lopez Centeno of Carson, died at the scene. The Mazda’s driver was hospitalized. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
